Purpose of establishment:
ARTA (Airport RFID Technology Alliance) started as a voluntary association, and was established in December, 2008, in order to disseminate and promote RFID technology at airports. The technology was nurtured and accumulated by ASTREC (Advanced Airport Systems Technology Research Consortium) which was a predecessor organization based on Res. Associations for Mining and Manufacturing Technology Law in Japan, and carried out research activities from August, 2003 to May, 2008.
In September, 2011, ARTA became an Incorporated Nonprofit Organization to cope with the request to work as an incorporation as well as to engage in the nonprofit activities of RFID technology dissemination and promotion at airports.
Recently, the importance of integration with advanced technologies, which is necessary to promote RFID technology dissemination and promotion activities, has been increasing, and the scope of activities has been expanding accordingly. Therefore, there is a need to consider technological support widely, which led to the change of the corporation's name in August 2023.
